Job summary

Mortenson Construction seeks a Construction Coordinator to support project teams in a flexible, fast-paced environment in Omaha/Lincoln, NE. The role interfaces with staff at all levels and emphasizes organization, confidentiality, and efficient processes.

Two levels exist with pay ranges per hour. Candidates may qualify for either level based on experience, with base hourly pay ranging from the mid-27s to low-40s. This is a full-time, on-site position with strong teamwork and safety focus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-year degree in construction preferred for II level.
• Experience on a construction site is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and internet search.

Responsibilities

• Collect and organize punch lists, inventory, and production plans.
• Process invoices and billing under supervision of PM or project accountant.
• Train new project admins/clerks.
• Perform inventory control and document controls.
• Conduct basic field quality and safety inspections.
• Document conformance to plans and specs.
• Support safety culture and diverse teams.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

SUMMARY

Mortenson is currently seeking a Construction Coordinator with the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

This position offers opportunities at both levels 1 and 2, allowing candidates to apply based on their experience and qualifications. Compensation for this role is determined based on factors such as experience and location.

Accepted Locations: Must be flexible between Omaha, NE and Lincoln, NE

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collect and organize punch lists, inventory, work production plans for easy retrieval and documenting


• Process invoices and billing under the supervision of project manager and/or project accountant


• Train in new project admins/clerks


• Perform basic inventory control under the direction of project management staff


• Assist with record retention and document controls


• Perform basic field quality and safety inspections


• Document conformance to plans and specs


• Recommend potential solutions


• Promote Mortenson's safety culture


• Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels


• All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent


• Previous experience on a construction job site preferred


• Strong Microsoft Office and internet skills


• Ability to learn and utilize different types of computer software used in Construction Management to support any aspect of a construction project


• Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally


• Ability to effectively handle detailed information and meet deadlines


• Ability to multitask


• Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback


• Ability to travel up to 100%

Construction Coordinator I:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: See Above

The base pay range for this role is $27.55/hour MIN - $37.21/hour MAX. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%).

Construction Coordinator II:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 2-year degree in construction.

The base pay range for this role is $30.77/hour MIN - $41.54/hour MAX. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%).

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
