Position Overview:
We’re seeking an experienced Construction Coordinator to help lead critical infrastructure projects across Texas. In this role, you’ll oversee construction activities for substations, transmission lines, communication systems, and right-of-way preparation. You’ll ensure quality control, contractor compliance, and successful project execution—all while serving as the vital link between engineering, maintenance, contractors, and vendors.
What You’ll Do:
Project Coordination & Oversight
Supervise construction activities to ensure compliance with specifications, contracts, and timelines
Implement minor design modifications to accommodate site conditions
Coordinate material delivery, use, and return across project sites
Serve as liaison with internal departments, contractors, utility companies, government agencies, and landowners
Monitor and report on construction progress, field testing, and milestones
Assist the Construction Superintendent with project scheduling, documentation, and closeouts
Documentation & Compliance
Prepare and submit detailed daily/weekly reports, billing units, evaluations, and spending updates
Maintain accurate project “as-builts” and records
Ensure contractor adherence to ERCOT, RUS, TX DOT, OSHA, JHA, and EPA SWPPP regulations
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management plus 2 years of relevant experience, or
High school diploma/equivalent plus 6 years of electric utility construction experience
Specialized training in building construction, power transmission/distribution, or communication facilities is preferred
Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in the field
Willingness to travel frequently and work extended hours as needed. This position requires frequent travel and extended stays out of town (approximately 80% or more depending on project location). Flexibility and adaptability are essential.
