Job summary

IQ Fiber is seeking a Construction Coordinator to manage residential and commercial fiber projects from start to finish. You will conduct field surveys, obtain permits, develop BOMs, issue NTP packages, oversee subcontractors, and ensure work meets technical standards and budget.

This role requires strong field presence, cross-functional coordination, and the ability to troubleshoot independently. You will document as-built data for the Vetro system and report progress to stakeholders, while

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; two-year degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of telecommunications construction experience.
  • Experience with walk-out surveys, design, budgeting, and creating BOMs including GPON; experience managing contractor relationships and coordinating multi-site construction projects.
  • Industry certifications and training such as NCTI, SCTE, or BCT/E preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; familiarity with Vetro.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license with a clear MVR, current auto insurance, and a satisfactory driving record; ability to drive during nighttime and adverse weather conditions.
  • Must pass a standard background check and drug screening.
  • Ability to work independently using sound judgment, solve problems with little or no direction, and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in written and verbal formats and coordinate effectively across customers, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds repeatedly, climb ladders up to 28 feet, and work in adverse weather conditions.
  • Availability for a 24/7 operation including emergency schedules during natural disasters, network outages, mandatory overtime, and weekend work as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Own construction projects end-to-end, from initial survey through final closeout, ensuring quality service delivery and customer satisfaction throughout.
  • Conduct field surveys of existing and proposed outside plant installations, including aerial and underground network facilities; design route paths and building entry points for service delivery.
  • Obtain required permits and easements for aerial and underground construction; ensure all permitting requirements are identified and fulfilled before work begins.
  • Create Bills of Materials (BOMs) for all projects; request purchase orders and manage material ordering, delivery, and coordination with contract construction companies.
  • Prepare and issue Notice-to‑Proceed (NTP) packages for contractors; assign work to subcontractor leadership teams and approve final billing.
  • Perform field verification of all construction activities to confirm work meets design specifications; monitor subcontractor quality and safety performance throughout execution.
  • Troubleshoot on‑site issues as they arise, taking corrective action quickly to protect timelines, cost control, and service quality.
  • Modify design schematics to reflect as-built conditions; ensure all as-built data and bore logs are provided to the documentation team for input into Vetro.
  • Submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on all construction activity to internal and external departments; verify work-in-progress reports.
  • Coordinate between customers and all internal and external departments throughout project execution; define architecture, equipment needs, costs, and variables to support accurate project planning and budgeting.
  • Ensure full compliance with OSHA safety standards and IQ Fiber policies; maintain accountability for safety, productivity, quality, workmanship, and customer service on all assigned projects.

Position Summary

This role owns the full project lifecycle, including field surveys, permitting, Bill of Materials (BOM) development, Notice-to‑Proceed (NTP) packages, subcontractor oversight, quality control, and as-built verification.


The Construction Coordinator ensures all work meetsestablishedtechnical standards and company policies, that as-built data and bore logs are delivered to the documentation team for entry into Vetro, and that projects are completed on time and within budget. This role requires strong field presence, cross‑functional coordination, and the ability to troubleshoot and make sound decisions independently.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
