Job summary

Superior Rigging & Erecting Co. is seeking an experienced Controller to lead the accounting function in Atlanta.

You will own the monthly close, general ledger integrity, and construction-specific accounting including job costing, WIP reporting, and revenue recognition. You will guide internal controls, audits, and staff development while partnering with the CFO and operations leadership to provide reliable financial information for strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership.
• Experience as Controller or senior accounting leader in project-based environments.
• Strong construction accounting, job costing, and WIP reporting knowledge.
• Experience with revenue recognition and external audits.

Responsibilities

• Lead the accounting function and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
• Own monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Maintain general ledger integrity and reconcile balance sheets.
• Oversee construction accounting, job costing, WIP reporting, and revenue recognition.
• Develop policies, internal controls, and close calendars.
• Lead audits, oversee AP/AR, billing, and fixed asset accounting.
• Educate and mentor accounting staff; ensure proper SOX-like controls.
