Job summary

NorthPoint Search Group is seeking a Controller for a construction-focused role located in Union City. The position involves managing all accounting functions, overseeing job costing, and ensuring accurate financial reporting for foundation and construction projects.

Hybrid role with time split between the office and project sites. Competitive salary plus bonus and benefits, with immediate start for a full-time, permanent hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 5+ years of accounting experience in construction.
• Strong knowledge of job costing and %-of-completion accounting.
• Experience with construction accounting software (Sage/Viewpoint/Foundation) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting functions including AP/AR, payroll, and general ledger
• Manage job costing, WIP reporting, and project financial tracking
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Ensure GAAP compliance and internal controls
• Collaborate with project managers to monitor budgets and forecast costs
• Lead audits and coordinate with external accounting partners
• Develop and improve financial processes and reporting systems
