The US Army Corps of Engineers in Rapid City seeks an experienced engineer to provide technical assistance on reviewing project plans and specifications to determine site compatibility and potential problems.
You will coordinate with contractors, private concerns, and government agencies to prevent conflicts and maintain effective public relations on construction projects; monitor phases to ensure compliance with schedules and specs.

One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Monitoring construction quality such as adherence to approved production schedule or proper installation of material components; 2) Analyzing various phases of construction to ensure compliance with contract specifications. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-10).
