Job summary

ARCO Companies seeks a Contract Specialist to join our growing legal team. You will review and negotiate subcontracts and vendor agreements, ensuring alignment with internal policies and procedures while supporting Project Managers on insurance and contractual obligations.

The role requires a legal background (JD or paralegal certificate) or equivalent hands-on construction contract experience, plus strong communication and organizational skills to build cross-functional relationships.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in contract administration, contract manager, or similar role.
• Knowledge of legal requirements associated with contracts.
• Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to build solid relationships with internal teams and outside vendors.
• Excellent customer service and verbal/written communication skills; organized and detail oriented.
• Ongoing collaboration with Project Managers, Legal and Finance teams.

Responsibilities

• Review and negotiate subcontracts and vendor agreements to align with internal policies.
• Advise Project Managers on insurance and contractual obligations in subcontractor agreements.
• Maintain understanding of standard downstream forms.
• Collaborate with controllers and operations stakeholders.
• Suggest edits to downstream forms and manage changes under leadership.
• Interpret contract provisions to resolve subcontractor questions and claims.
• Identify risks from contract changes and analyze/reduce them.
