Job summary

A leading construction firm is seeking a Corporate Counsel to manage contractual issues for multimillion-dollar projects. This role involves advising the project team on contract provisions, drafting notices, and ensuring compliance with risk management protocols. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctor (JD) and 1-5 years of experience in construction law. Proficiency in SharePoint and CMIC is a plus. This position is based in Detroit, MI, with onsite responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 1-5 years of experience in construction law and contract interpretation.
• Understanding of OCIP and SDI insurance programs.
• Willingness to work onsite and at headquarters.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and advise on contract provisions and obligations.
• Draft formal notices to owners, subcontractors, and insurance companies.
• Collaborate with the Risk Mitigation team on insurance obligations.
• Review and draft standard subcontract riders.
• Support project team with change order and management processes.
• Ensure timely submission of contractual documentation.
• Provide training on contractual requirements.
