Job Description

The Construction Supervisor - Concrete Trade directs activities of workers involved in concrete construction or related tasks, either personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Study specifications to plan procedures based on timelines and staffing needs for concrete work.
  2. Order tools and materials to meet work schedules; coordinate with personnel and subcontractors to plan and execute work, interpret specifications, and prevent delays.
  3. Consult with supervisory personnel and subcontractors to resolve workforce issues.
  4. Coordinate with engineering and inspection teams to resolve construction problems and improve methods.
  5. Inspect ongoing work to ensure quality and schedule adherence.
  6. Oversee maintenance of existing installations related to concrete work.
  7. Ensure quality in concrete depth, finishes, edges, and surfaces.
  8. Manage subgrade work, concrete mixing, and form setting.
  9. Perform basic forming activities and manage accessories.
  10. Oversee patching and surface finishing of walls.
  11. Conduct flatwork preparation, forming, placement, curing, and saw cutting.
  12. Handle site concrete activities such as paving, sidewalks, curbs, footings, foundations, and retaining walls.
  13. Use advanced concrete materials, fasteners, and equipment effectively.
  14. Lay out footings, piers, walls, stairs, sidewalks accurately.
  15. Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment by the crew.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Responsible for overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the concrete trade team, including hiring, training, work planning, performance appraisal, and discipline, in accordance with organizational policies and laws.

Physical Demands

This role requires standing, reaching, climbing, walking, handling, talking, and hearing. Occasionally, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Must lift up to 25 pounds regularly, 50 pounds frequently, and 100 pounds occasionally, with vision abilities including close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
