Job summary

Roessel Joy seeks a Chief Financial Officer to lead the financial function for a growing, multi-state design-build general contractor. The CFO will own financial strategy, construction accounting, multi-state tax and compliance, banking and bonding relationships, and financial reporting across three offices.

This hands-on leadership role requires construction finance expertise, experience with Procore and Sage Timberline, and the ability to scale the finance organization to support ongoing

Qualifications

• CFO-level finance leadership in construction or general contracting.
• Multi-state licensing and tax exposure across jurisdictions.
• Procore and Sage Timberline experience or willingness to train.
• Strong cost accounting: job costing, WIP, and project profitability.
• Experience with banking, lending, and bonding in contracting.
• Bachelor's in accounting/finance; CPA preferred.
• HR/IT oversight experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own overall financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management across three offices.
• Manage banking relationships, credit facilities, and surety/bonding capacity.
• Oversee construction accounting operations: job costing, WIP reporting, profitability analysis.
• Direct multi-state compliance for licensing and payroll tax across 35 states.
• Own finance systems stack; integrate project management and accounting data.
• Lead and scale the accounting/finance team; manage audits and covenant compliance.
• Prepare financial reporting for ownership and executive team; support profit-sharing.
• Partner with President on strategic planning, pricing, and growth opportunities.
• Oversee HR and IT functions; scale controls for multi-state workforce.
