Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and construction documents to plan work layout.
  • Measure, cut, and assemble wood and other materials for structures and fixtures.
  • Install hollow metal doors, frames, hardware, and specialty items (e.g., toilet partitions, marker boards).
  • Construct forms and chutes for concrete pouring.
  • Perform cabinet, floor, window, and trim installation using hand and power tools.
  • Inspect and repair woodwork, tile, and structural components as needed.
  • Erect scaffolding and ladders for projects above ground level.
  • Operate power tools and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Maintain clean and secure job sites, following Henkel's safety standards.
  • Perform basic welding, concrete mixing, plumbing, and ceiling/wall paneling as needed.
  • Uphold company values through reliable, respectful, and results-oriented conduct.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on carpentry experience in commercial construction.
  • Ability to read blueprints and accurately measure and mark materials.
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, and carpentry machinery.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 100 lbs and perform physically demanding work.
  • Ability to climb, kneel, bend, crawl, and work at heights using ladders or scaffolding.
  • Strong time management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to wear required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toe boots) and work in varying weather conditions.
  • Travel required as needed to support regional job sites.

Work Schedule

  • Full-time | Monday - Friday | 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
  • Occasional additional hours as needed based on project requirements

Work Location:

  • Jobsites are primarily located in Central Iowa; Occasional out-of-town or overnight travel may be expected.
