Job summary

Offit Kurman in New York seeks an experienced Construction Attorney to join our growing New York office. This attorney will represent architects, engineers, and other design professionals in construction contracts, risk management, and day-to-day legal counseling.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in construction law, is admitted to the New York Bar, and can serve as outside general counsel for design and construction clients.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in construction law.
• Experience with AIA contracts.
• Admission to practice in New York.
• Outside general counsel experience for design and construction clients.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and client counseling skills.
• Litigation experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Advise architects, engineers, and other design professionals on legal and business matters
• Draft, review, and negotiate professional services agreements and construction‑related contracts

Job description

Offit Kurman is seeking an experienced Construction Attorney to join our growing New York office. This attorney will focus on representing architects, engineers, and other design professionals in connection with construction projects, contracts, risk management, and day‑to‑day legal counseling.

The ideal candidate will have experience serving as trusted counsel to design professionals, advising on the negotiation and drafting of professional services agreements, construction contracts, project disputes, and business‑related matters. We are particularly interested in attorneys who understand the unique legal and business issues facing architects, engineers, and construction industry clients.

While the position is primarily advisory and transactional, experience handling construction litigation, professional liability matters, or design defect disputes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Advise architects, engineers, and other design professionals on legal and business matters
• Draft, review, and negotiate professional services agreements and construction‑related contracts
• Counsel clients on risk management, project delivery, and contract administration
