Job summary

MEC General Contractors is seeking a Construction Associate Project Manager in Dallas, TX. This role supports the project manager in design, permitting, construction, and occupancy transitions across projects with a focus on delivering quality on time and within budget.

You will collaborate with senior managers, coordinate teams and subcontractors, and maintain project documentation. The position offers growth, a family-owned culture, and stability with limited travel across the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, project and/or construction management or equivalent.
• 1 year of project management experience preferred.
• Knowledge of building codes, blueprints, permits, construction processes and PM principles.
• Experience with construction/project management software preferred.
• Some field experience on construction sites preferred.
• Strong communication, leadership, organizational, problem solving and time-management skills.
• Ability to travel and visit job sites.

Responsibilities

• Support senior project manager(s) on projects and initiatives to ensure accurate and current project documentation.
• Understand a project’s scope and create documents for project requirements.
• Monitor projects regularly, evaluating progress and quality, and manage issue resolution.
• Maintain the quality of all project data to assure integrity.
• Serve as point of contact for all project communications and manage expectations.
• Coordinate project team members and subcontractors to ensure efficient execution and deadlines.
• Responsible for small and medium projects, with opportunities to collaborate on larger ones.
• Establish and maintain project communications with internal and external stakeholders.
• Track and process project costs including change orders and owner actions.
• Communicate with utility providers; monitor delivery dates.
• Coordinate on all project closeout requirements with subcontractors and field staff.
• Acquire licenses and permits; ensure code compliance.
• Monitor construction activities to meet schedule and budget.
• Partner with construction superintendent to ensure quality.
• Provide regular progress reports to stakeholders.
• Use scheduling software to update schedules and document progress.
