Job summary

Pro-Vac, a leading environmental services provider in Washington, seeks a seasoned heavy equipment and heavy truck mechanic for our expansive in-house repair shop. You will diagnose, repair, and service diesel engines, hydraulics, brakes, and electrical systems with advanced diagnostic tools.

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years of heavy equipment and/or heavy truck mechanic experience.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, aftertreatment/emissions, hydraulics, air brakes, and 12-volt/CAN bus electronics.
• Experience using Cummins INSITE, Cat ET, and DiagnosticLink 8.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment and truck issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs (major and minor).
• Repair diesel engines, transmissions, electrical systems, hydraulics, brakes, suspensions, steering, and fuel systems.
• Use diagnostic software to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical problems.
• Perform welding, fabrication, and cutting as needed; complete Federal DOT inspections.

Job description

You will maintain our expansive fleet, including the largest Vac-Con fleet in the PNW, so we can continue providing quality environmental services to our communities. We’re looking for a highly experienced mechanic who can confidently diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment and Class A trucks in a fast-paced shop environment.

You MIGHT be a good fit on our AWESOME team if you...

• Have 5-7+ years of heavy equipment and/or heavy truck mechanic experience
• Have strong knowledge of diesel engines, aftertreatment/emissions systems, hydraulics, air brakes, and 12-volt/CAN bus electrical systems
• Have experience using Cummins INSITE, Cat ET, and DiagnosticLink 8
• Can confidently complete brake jobs and wheel-end repairs on Class A trucks
• Are a skilled welder and comfortable using a cutting torch
• Are willing to work extended hours when needed and alongside a less-experienced crew
• Have your own hand tools up to 1.5" , including wrenches and sockets
• Are a motivated, independent problem-solver
