Job summary

Ulakaia Center in Fairbanks, AK seeks an experienced Assistant Controller to support the Controller in overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, construction job costing, and contract administration on major projects.

The role requires strong GAAP knowledge, analytical ability, and the capacity to manage month-end close, budgeting, and internal controls within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is required.
• 2+ years progressive accounting experience, preferably in construction.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting experience is essential.
• Experience with job costing, contracts, and project billing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Maintain general ledger and ensure proper classification of transactions.
• Manage month-end close, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow management.
• Oversee AP, AR, and contract administration for construction projects.
• Ensure internal controls and regulatory compliance.
