Job summary

PCL Construction Services, Inc. in Bellevue, WA is seeking an Accountant to apply accounting expertise to complex construction projects, lead project financial processes, and support strategic decision‑making with financial analysis and forecasting.

You will mentor junior staff, drive process improvements, and help ensure projects are delivered with robust operational and financial oversight across programs and sites.

This is a hands-on, growth-oriented role in a 100% employee-owned company.

Qualifications

• Postsecondary degree or diploma in a related discipline.
• Active pursuit of accounting designation considered an asset.
• 3-5 years of accounting experience in construction or related industry.
• Advanced understanding of full-cycle accounting and project forecasting and budgeting.
• Intermediate knowledge of government legislation and GAAP.
• Intermediate knowledge of project costing, recoveries, insurance and contract requirements.
• Compliance with labor agreements, government laws and PCL policies.
• Understanding owner contracts related to payment terms and billing.
• Strong management, delegation and leadership abilities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Performs general accounting and administrative functions for large projects.
• Completes financial transactions accurately and timely.
• Provides ad hoc reports and analysis to project teams.
• Prepares bank deposits, reconciliations, and cash receipts.
• Identifies irregularities and supports risk mitigation strategies.
• Communicates risks to management and project teams.
• Assembles client billings packages per contract terms.
• Reviews contracts and supports project setup procedures.
• Supervises and mentors entry level accounting staff.
