Job summary

Mars, Incorporated in the United States seeks a Consolidations and External Reporting professional to assist in preparing the annual and quarterly US GAAP consolidated financial statements for Mars and its subsidiaries, focusing on the consolidations process and data collection from decentralized units.

You will support the consolidation close, journal entries, footnotes, and cross-functional collaboration with external auditors, while improving data quality and alignment with accounting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting and CPA license.
• 2–4 years of experience in the audit division.
• 1–2 years of experience in industry external reporting.
• Experience with external auditors and consultants.
• Global mindset and understanding country/region differences worldwide.
• Experience working with consolidation systems.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel; proficient in Word and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Generate reports from financial systems for annual and quarterly US GAAP statements and support the consolidation process.
• Support the periodic close and consolidation process including unit support, journal entries, analysis and reporting.
• Assist with the US GAAP quarterly close process and calendar, including financial statements, footnotes and schedules.
• Collaborate with external auditors to provide required information and improve audit efficiencies.
• Document processes, controls, and procedures related to the close and consolidation.
• Assist with business unit accounting questions and drive quality improvements.
• Work with Technical Accounting to implement new guidance and communicate changes to business units.
