Job summary

Boater's World Marine Centers in Islamorada, FL seeks a Consignment Sales Consultant to build relationships with boat owners and grow our consignments. You will prospect inventory, market yourself on social platforms, and negotiate consignments and purchases in person or by phone.

You will develop a strong local network in the Florida Keys boating community, manage a steady pipeline, and drive commission-based earnings through successful closings.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of sales experience preferred.
• Experience with outbound prospecting, lead generation, and negotiation.
• Experience using Facebook Marketplace, social media, CRM systems, online listings, or other prospecting tools.
• Strong verbal communication, relationship-building, and customer service skills.
• Familiarity with the Florida Keys boating market is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work a dealership schedule, including Saturdays as required.

• Market yourself through social media and develop your personal presence as someone boat owners contact when ready to sell.
• Make outbound calls and consistently follow up with prospective sellers.
• Identify opportunities through local boating events and dealership relationships.
• Negotiate purchase and consignment opportunities confidently over the phone and in person.
• Convert conversations into appointments, purchases, and signed consignments.
• Maintain a consistent pipeline of potential inventory acquisitions.

Boater's World Marine Centers is looking for a high-energy, outgoing, and sales-driven Consignment Sales Consultant to join our dealership in Islamorada, Florida, and help grow one of the most important parts of our business—our boat inventory.

Located in the heart of the Florida Keys, our dealership serves a boating community filled with passionate boat owners, anglers, and marine enthusiasts. We're looking for someone who can take advantage of this unique market by building relationships, finding opportunities, and connecting with boat owners who are considering selling their vessels.

This is not a position where you sit at a desk and wait for leads to come in. Our most successful Consignment Sales Consultants create their own opportunities. They build relationships with boat owners, prospect for inventory, work their networks, use social media to market themselves, follow up consistently, and negotiate confidently over the phone and in person.

What You'll Do

• Work directly with boat owners throughout Islamorada, the Florida Keys, and surrounding South Florida markets who are considering selling their boats.
• Help customers determine whether selling their boat directly to Boater's World or consigning with our dealership is the best solution.
• Actively prospect for boats through Facebook Marketplace, online listings, referrals, marina relationships, existing customers, and your personal network.
• Build relationships with local boat owners, fishing enthusiasts, marina personnel, and other members of the Florida Keys boating community.
• Market yourself through social media and develop your personal presence as someone boat owners can contact when they're ready to sell.
• Make outbound calls and consistently follow up with prospective sellers.
• Identify opportunities through local boating events, community connections, and dealership relationships.
• Negotiate purchase and consignment opportunities confidently over the phone and in person.
• Convert conversations into appointments, purchases, and signed consignment agreements.
• Build and maintain a consistent pipeline of potential inventory acquisitions.
• Stay in communication with clients throughout the consignment process.
• Maintain accurate prospecting activity, customer information, and follow-up in our CRM.
• Work closely with dealership management and the sales team to bring desirable, marketable inventory into the dealership.

• Able to build rapport quickly and earn a customer's trust.
• Organized enough to manage multiple active opportunities and customer relationships.
• Motivated by performance and commission-based compensation.
• Willing to get out into the market, build relationships, and actively pursue inventory opportunities.
• Someone who takes ownership of results rather than waiting for opportunities to happen.

Experience & Qualifications

• At least 2 years of sales experience preferred, particularly in automotive sales, marine sales, RV or powersports sales, BDC/Internet sales, inside sales, consignment, acquisitions, or another high-activity sales environment.
• Experience with outbound prospecting, lead generation, customer follow-up, and negotiation strongly preferred.
• Experience using Facebook Marketplace, social media, CRM systems, online listings, or other prospecting tools strongly preferred.
• Strong verbal communication, relationship-building, and customer service skills.
• Comfortable working independently while collaborating with dealership management and the sales team.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to maintain accurate customer and prospecting records.
• Familiarity with the Florida Keys boating market, local marinas, fishing community, or marine industry is a plus.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work a dealership schedule, including Saturdays as required.

Marine experience is helpful, but sales ability, personality, work ethic, and the ability to create opportunities are more important.
