Job summary

The Philadelphia Museum of Art seeks a Conservation Scientist to conduct scientific research and analysis to inform preservation and scholarly interpretation of the Museum’s collections. This full-time role involves collaboration with conservators, curators, scientists, and educators to advance research and education.

Responsibilities

• Undertake scientific research and analysis of the Museum’s collections for their preservation and scholarly interpretation.
• Collaborate with conservators, curators, scientists, and educators on research.
• Prepare and disseminate written reports of scientific findings to Museum staff and external audiences.
• Make research public via scholarly journals, exhibition catalogues, and presentations at conferences and public lectures.
• Help plan and develop laboratory resources through grant proposals and partnerships.
