Job summary

Natural Resources Conservation Service in Oregon seeks an engineer to support planning, design, installation, and maintenance of soil and water conservation practices. The incumbent provides technical guidance and assists in engineering phases of projects in state, area, or field offices.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, ABET-accredited program or equivalent.
Combination of education and experience demonstrating engineering knowledge.
Possession of Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), PE licensure, or FE exam completion.

Responsibilities

Supervise planning, design and construction of engineering practices such as water management, erosion control, and wetland restoration.
Prepare designs, drawings and specifications for complex engineering projects.
Lead site investigations, feasibility studies and field construction checks for conservation installations.
Conduct periodic quality reviews of notes, drawings, and designs for compliance with standards.
Assist leadership in evaluating effectiveness of engineering practices and procedures.
Assist leadership in identifying training needs for engineering staff.
