Job description

SUMMARY

Supports the planning of Subaru's future connected vehicle (CV) technology (Digital Cockpit, Vehicle-to-Everything [V2X], Vehicle to Vehicle [V2V], Features as a Service [FAAS], Over-the-Air [OTA], etc.) across the Subaru product portfolio. Supports the formulation of CV product proposals and requests with documentation, market research, metrics, data analytics, trend analysis, and business models. Assists the Future Product Planning team within various points of the product planning processes.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conducts research on industry and market trends in the connected vehicle (CV) technology automotive space. Analyzes research to determine the value of products in terms of market needs, benefits, and profit. Assists in setting future product priorities and roadmap. Performs competitive analysis of Subaru's CV product portfolio vs competitors.
  • Gathers, documents, and validates business requirements from stakeholders across CV, Information Technology (IT), Product Management, Accounting, Marketing, Operations, and Service. Assembles research information and authors and maintains detailed product and feature business requirement documents (BRDs) and Service Definition Documents (SDD) for submission to Subaru Corporation (SBR), ensuring clarity and completeness. Serves as the day-to-day contact for the teams on clarification of product requests and requirements.
  • Manages changes and document version control processes. Translates business needs into functional specifications and ensures alignment with technical teams. Collaborates with the
  • Connected Cross-Business and Platform Manager and relevant cross-functional teams to ensure Connected Vehicle Business (CVB) requests align with Subaru of America (SOA) initiatives and priorities. Acts as the subject matter expert (SME) between business units and technical teams to ensure successful implementation of requirements.
  • Supports process improvement initiatives by identifying gaps and recommending solutions.
  • Develops pricing models and business cases for future products and features.
  • Analyzes data to support decision-making, including cost-benefit analysis and return on investment (ROI) projections. Supports the creation of dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and communicates insights to stakeholders.
  • Facilitates partner/supplier engagements and product demos.
  • Supports the facilitation of customer research studies, including user clinics, focus groups, and surveys; organizes and maintains a research repository.
  • Collaborates with North American Subaru, Inc. (NASI) Michigan (MI) Connected Engineering and participates in graphical user interface (GUI)/human-machine interface (HMI) design planning discussions and review workshops.
  • Streamlines information, summarizes findings, and develops clear and compelling planning presentation decks tailored for various audiences. Communicates complex data and insights in a clear, actionable manner to stakeholders.
  • Participates in product evaluation and benchmarking activities for U.S. automotive market research; orchestrates vehicle rentals for hands-on exploratory research.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Organizes and schedules the CV Planning group's attendance to industry conferences, events, and partner engagements.
  • Supports the day-to-day operations for Connected Future Product Planning and Business Development.
REQUIRED SKILLS & PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex quantitative and qualitative data for proposals and recommendations.
  • Experience gathering, documenting, and validating business and functional requirements.
  • Strong critical thinking to evaluate scenarios, challenge assumptions, and propose data-driven solutions.
  • Experience conducting user research (clinics, focus groups, surveys) and maintaining research repositories.
  • Ability to synthesize insights into actionable recommendations for product planning.
  • Forecasting and trend analysis skills for strategic planning.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills for modeling and presentations.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools and organized reporting.
  • Knowledge of project management tools (JIRA, Confluence) with the ability to build pricing models, return on investment (ROI) calculations, and business cases.
  • Understanding of automotive industry trends and connected vehicle (CV) technology.
  • Strong grasp of business processes and ability to translate technical details into business language.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across cross-functional requirements.
  • Cultural sensitivity and experience working with international stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Agile and hybrid methodologies; ability to adapt to evolving processes.
  • Strong workflow and time management skills for prioritization and project planning.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree required or H.S. Diploma and equivalent experience in lieu of degree required with 4-6 years of work experience.

WORK EXPERIENCE
  • Office Location: Camden, NJ apart of the Greater Philadelphia Area (Philly)
  • Hybrid Role: Hybrid Role - Remote work 2 days per week (after 90 days) [Wednesdays & Fridays]
  • Travel: 20% Domestic
COMPENSATION

The recruiting base salary range for this full-time position is $77,000 - $87,000 / year. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Additionally, this role is bonus-eligible , with a target bonus percentage that provides an opportunity to earn even more based on your performance. (Internal Job Grade: P2)
