Job summary

Strategic Insight, Ltd. seeks a part-time Congressional/Public Affairs Analyst to support the Strategic Cell in ASN (RD&A) with congressional support for NDAA efforts, reporting requirements, and nomination preparation.

The role involves providing program management support, developing and editing materials, and tracking budget language for the DON at the Pentagon. Required: Secret clearance eligibility and at least 5 years with Navy/DON acquisition, plus strong MS Office, SharePoint, and data

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of work experience with the Navy, specifically within the DON acquisition community.
• Preferred experience dealing with the U.S. House of Representatives or the U.S. Senate or both.
• High school diploma required; DoD public affairs experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide program management support in Communications and Legislative Affairs.
• Develop and manage SharePoint pages in coordination with a development team.
• Track congressional taskers and verify responses are drafted clearly and concisely.
• Develop and edit draft written materials (PowerPoints, speeches, letters) for Congress or public dissemination.
• Review and analyze news, congressional reports, and legislation to provide updates and impacts.
• Support Public Affairs in advising senior staff on Congressional Affairs.
• Prepare responses and briefing documents including Requests for Information and Questions for the Record.
• Analyze and consolidate budget language and reporting requirements; produce reports for Congress.
• Coordinate annual budget briefs for acquisition program offices to defend funding in the President’s Budget.
• Track budget appeals to congressional committees.
• Assemble summaries, briefs, and transcripts for congressional hearings and markups.
• Draft and submit monthly financial and contractual data reports.
