About the Congregational Care Pastor
The primary focus of the Congregational Care Pastor is to serve the Lord and the body of Grace Covenant Church by overseeing all aspects of care leadership training and implementation of the GraceCares Ministries, fulfilling our mission and reflecting our core values. This role involves leading care ministry programs such as Celebrate Recovery, GriefShare, and DivorceCare, providing short-term counseling, teaching, spiritual guidance, and managing administrative tasks. The ideal candidate is a mature believer in Jesus Christ with a shepherding heart, biblical knowledge, and experience in team leadership.
The Congregational Care Pastor’s responsibilities include:
Ministry Development and Coordination:
- Serve as Worship Center Lobby Host, greeting and connecting with members/visitors
- Lead the T.E.A.M. (Training, Encouragement, Assimilation, Ministry) of Grace’s Celebrate Recovery
- Develop current and future leaders for Celebrate Recovery, GriefShare, and DivorceCare
- Complete Celebrate Recovery Step Studies; share personal testimony
- Oversee Benevolences for Congregational and Community Assistance
- Coordinate Funerals and Memorial Services
- Participate in staff and team meetings
- Lead the Grace Care Leadership Development meetings
- Delegate responsibilities such as Pastor on Call duties
Teaching and Programming:
- Develop and teach Celebrate Recovery curriculum
- Lead Celebrate Recovery sessions with lay leaders
- Plan GriefShare and DivorceCare sessions twice a year
- Train Care Ministers using Paul Tripp’s “Instruments in the Redeemer’s Hands”
- Build relationships with lay leaders of CM, CR, DC, and GS
- Provide emotional, mental, and spiritual counseling to members
- Assist with professional counseling referrals
- Coordinate with Elders on Sunday morning Elder Prayer
- Maintain confidentiality and submit expense reports
Position Qualifications:

Education and experience
- M.A. in Biblical Studies, Christian Leadership, or Biblical Counseling
- 5+ years of relevant ministry experience
