Job summary

Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a qualified cardiac trained surgeon with prior experience in congenital heart surgery for a clinical faculty position at the Texas Children's Hospital. This is a one-year position with options to extend further (ACGME fellow match depending).

This individual will be involved primarily as a first assist in surgery and clinical support as part of one of the busiest and highest-ranked Congenital Heart Surgery programs in the world at Texas Children's Hospital.

Qualifications

• Education, required or desired terminal degree.
• Post terminal degree education (e.g., residency, postdoctoral training/fellowships).
• Certifications/Registrations/Licensure required for the position.
• Previous experience (e.g., clinical, research, teaching).
• Other desired qualifications (e.g., grants, bilingual, awards, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Identify the setting in which the faculty member will work (e.g., hospitals, clinics, labs) and the individual(s) to whom he or she will report.
• Articulate clinical, research and/or teaching responsibilities of the position.
• Delineate supervisory responsibilities (if any) for staff, students, trainees and/or other faculty members.
• Add any specific functions required/desired by the department.
• Include specific measurable and attainable performance goals for the position.
