Job summary

Cineverse Giant Worldwide is seeking on‑call Temporary Conformance Technicians to manipulate and edit audio, video, and subtitle files to match client specifications for streaming platforms on an as‑needed basis. Shifts may include day or swing hours, with preference noted.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years’ experience with various video formats and encoding, and is proficient with industry tools such as Premiere, Clipster, Transkoder, and Resolve.

Qualifications

• Conforming audio, video, and subtitle content to platform specs (iTunes, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon).
• Solid understanding of subtitling formats, audio sample rates, frame rates, and SMPTE timecode.
• Knowledge of PAL/NTSC, codecs, frame rate conversions, captions, and SDH.
• Experience with post‑production workflows using listed tools.

Responsibilities

• Quickly understand technical specs and apply them to assets.
• Monitor a high-volume, time-sensitive queue and prioritize tasks.
• Restore and conform source assets as required.
• Validate media against client and internal specs.

We are seeking on‑call Temporary Conformance Technicians to manipulate and edit audio, video and subtitle files to match client and vendor specifications for streaming platforms on an as‑needed basis, sometimes with as little as one day’s notice. Great opportunity for someone who is a team-oriented, technically skilled, systems-oriented, and has an overall "Roll Up Your Sleeves" approach to troubleshooting. Day and swing shifts are available; please indicate if you have a preference. The ideal Conformance Technician will possess at least 2 years of experience working with various formats of digital video sources and encoding, including expertise in Digital Portal specs.

Key Responsibilities

• Quickly comprehend technical specifications and apply that understanding.
• Monitor and prioritize a high volume and time sensitive order queue.
• Ensure source assets are restored and conformed as required.
• Validate video, audio and timed text media assets against a variety of client and internal specifications.
• Communicate and document internal rejections to the appropriate teams.
• Verify integrity of deliverables and delivery package prior to servicing.
• Maintain servicing action logs as needed
• Succinctly and efficiently handoff projects with next-up shifts
• Operate with a high sense of urgency and discretion
• Other tasks as needed to meet project deadlines

Essential Qualifications / Competencies

• Conforming audio, video, and subtitle/caption content to platform specifications (iTunes, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc.).
• High level understanding of subtitling specification and formats, audio sample rates, video frame rates, SMPTE timecode and traditional multichannel audio configurations (2.0, 5.1, 7.1, ATMOS).
• Understanding of industry format standards such as PAL, NTSC, timecode, framerate, codec, audio settings/configurations, Frame Rate Conversions, captions, subtitles, forced Narrative, SDH
• Knowledge of post-production guidelines and workflows using tools such as Adobe Premiere Suite, Clipster, Transkoder, Cortex, Resolve, and various transcoding utilities such as Compressor, AME, Episode Pro.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate and collaborate with other groups.
• Strong data entry and proofreading skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Proficient with both Mac and PC operating systems.
• Comfortable with change and able to adapt as needed to meet the needs of our clients.
