Job summary

Milbank is seeking a conflicts-attorney to review complex conflict reports for new clients and matters, advise partners on risks, and draft waivers and screening memoranda. The role supports a global firm with flexible remote work from the US.

Ideal candidates hold a JD with licenses in NY/DC/CA, 4 years of conflicts experience, and strong knowledge of US and international conduct rules; availability for urgent matters and occasional travel to a local office if needed.

Qualifications

• JD and active law license in NY, DC or CA required.
• 4 years of conflicts-attorney experience preferred; preferable in a multi-office, large international law firm.
• Strong knowledge of US professional conduct rules including NY Rules, ABA Model Rules, and international rules.
• Fully remote (US) with 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. PST; flexibility to visit or work from local office.

Responsibilities

• Review complex conflict reports for new clients/matters and laterals; advise partners on legal and business risk and resolution paths.
• Draft and negotiate conflict waivers; prepare and implement ethical walls/screening memoranda.
• Audit and improve new business intake data, forms and engagement terms.
• Collaborate closely with Office of General Counsel leaders on firm-critical decisions.
• Be available for urgent matters and periodic on-call rotation, occasional weekends, and certain holidays.
