Job Title: Conflicts Analyst

Location: Fully Remote — Must reside in DC, IL, IN, MD, MA, NH, NJ, NY, RI, VA, or WV

Schedule: 40 hours per week | Long-Term Contract

Position Overview:

Trustpoint.one is assisting an Am Law 50 firm in their search for a detail-oriented and analytical Conflicts Analyst to support our legal operations team on a long-term contract basis. This is a 40-hour per week position (not a full-time employee role) and is fully remote, limited to candidates residing in approved states. The Conflicts Analyst will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and resolving conflicts of interest related to new business intake and lateral hires, ensuring compliance with ethical and professional standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and process all conflicts requests to ensure engagements and hires comply with business and ethical standards
  • Prepare and execute complex database searches and generate conflicts reports, including bulk and high-volume search requests
  • Conduct corporate research to verify the identities of related parties and flag high-profile issues or potential conflicts
  • Review conflicts reports and related documents to identify actual and potential conflicts of interest
  • Interpret search results and explain conflicts reports to attorneys, partners, and staff
  • Draft clear, comprehensive summaries of potential conflicts in accordance with applicable rules of professional conduct
  • Communicate with partners and attorneys to investigate, clarify, and resolve potential conflict issues
  • Keep attorneys informed throughout the conflicts clearance process
  • Maintain complete documentation and resolution notes for each conflicts request
  • Request waivers and confirm conflict resolution for applicable matters
  • Draft waivers and engagement letters as needed
  • Advise attorneys and firm personnel on complex conflicts scenarios and ethical considerations
  • Draft and implement ethical screens as appropriate
  • Stay current on legal ethics trends and perform case law research as needed
  • Provide conflicts training to secretaries and staff when required
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of directly related experience, preferably in a law firm, legal environment, or conflicts department
  • Strong research and analytical skills with keen attention to detail
  • Ability to interpret and apply rules of professional conduct
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; JD strongly preferred
  • Prior experience handling full lifecycle conflicts resolution strongly preferred
  • Paralegal Certificate or completion of an ethics course within a paralegal program preferred
  • Experience as a paralegal or legal researcher in a law firm a plus

This is a fully remote, long-term contract role, requiring availability for a standard 40-hour work week. Candidates must reside in one of the following states or jurisdictions to be eligible:

District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Virginia, or West Virginia.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $33.00 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
