Job summary

McDermott Will & Schulte is seeking a Conflicts Analyst to research and generate reports on potential new clients and matters, edit and analyze conflict search results, and provide data to Conflicts and Compliance Attorneys, the General Counsel’s Office, and the New Business Committee.

A successful analyst will balance customer service and risk prevention, exercising independent judgement as part of a global team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent requirement.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines in a global firm.
  • Discretion with confidential information.
  • Experience with Intapp Open is a plus.
  • Familiarity with research tools (Orbis, Dun & Bradstreet, World-Check).
  • Research/library experience and understanding of large firms.

Responsibilities

  • Process conflict search requests related to lateral partner transfers.
  • Coordinate with attorneys and secretaries to clarify information.
  • Communicate results of conflict searches to the Conflicts Attorney.
  • Audit and correct search details in the conflicts database.
  • Research new firm clients using industry search tools and platforms.
  • Provide telephone and email assistance to attorneys and secretaries to interpret reports and troubleshoot database issues.

Job Description

The Conflicts Analyst researches and generates reports on potential new clients and matters, edits and analyzes conflict of interest search results, and provides data to Conflicts and Compliance Attorneys, the General Counsel’s Office, and the New Business Committee.   • Process formal and informal conflict search requests related to lateral partner transfers
  • Coordinates with attorneys and secretaries to clarify submitted information
  • Communicate results of the conflict searches to the Conflicts Attorney
  • Audit and correct search details in the conflicts database
  • Research new Firm clients using industry search tools and platforms
  • Provide telephone and email assistance to attorneys and secretaries to interpret reports and troubleshoot database issues
Job Specifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Written and verbal fluency in English
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines for a global law firm

Target Hiring Range $91,000 – $115,000

Please note that quoted salary ranges are not guarantees of what final salary offers may be. Base pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. Base pay is only one part of the Total Rewards that MWS provides to compensate and recognize our staff professionals for their work. Full time positions are eligible for a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
