Job summary

Current Lighting is seeking an IT SAP Variant Configuration Analyst to plan, manage, and execute activities around Variant Configurators across brands, enabling internal manufacturing and external B2B tools. You will work with BOMs, material master data, and pricing within SAP S/4, ECC acceptable, and train cross-functional teams.

The role requires strong communication, problem solving, and independence in a dynamic lighting fixtures environment with a focus on data quality and process

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or information technology or equivalent experience in SAP environments.
• 3+ years in SAP ECC or S/4 with BOM/Material Master/Variant Config.
• 7+ years of Variant Configuration experience in SAP LO-VC.
• Experience with SAP S/4 Hana SD/OTC is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain Variant Configurator data within SAP S/4 environment (ECC acceptable).
• Maintain understanding of variant configurator data requirements across enterprise systems.
• Modify/publish documentation for product variants across brands.
• Ensure data quality and efficiency within SAP systems.

Job description

The IT SAP Variant Configuration Analyst is responsible for planning, managing, and executing the activities associated with detailed construction, analysis, and maintenance of the Variant Configurators (VCs) across brands. The VCs support external facing B2B sales tools and internal backend manufacturing operations. This requires the understanding of constraints-based product restrictions, master data requirements, bill of materials (BOMs), routers and pricing. This will require the ability to communicate and train cross functionally to produce lighting fixtures and associated components.

The working hours will be based on EDT or CDT.

Responsibilities:

Provides extensive support in the areas affected by the Variant Configurators including controls, processes, and data integrity, and provides assistance and support of interconnected systems. Will interface with Enterprise IT team members, SAP platform resources, SAP S/4 end-users, Engineering, New Product development and Customer Service personnel in the execution of duties, including:

• Creating and maintaining the Variant Configurator data for Current Lighting within the SAP S/4 environment, knowledge of ECC is acceptable.
• Maintaining a strong understanding of variant configurator data requirements in the SAP S/4 environment and the impacts of data elements on all enterprise systems.
• Modifying/publishing standard documentation relating to the different brand’s products.
• Ensuring efficiency and data quality for all functions within the SAP system.
• Conducting unit testing, integration testing, and supporting user acceptance testing (UAT) for LO-VC-related solutions across various cross functional teams.
• Facilitating and/or participating in business process improvement and change sessions in support of the company’s process improvement initiatives.
• Assisting in the development and validation of training materials as required for new models being released in the VC.

Experience & Educational Requirements:

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering or information technology is desired.
• In lieu of a degree, 3+ years of experience working in an SAP ECC or S/4 environment or similar ERP system working extensively with Bills of Material, Material Master and/or Variant Configuration will be considered.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience with Variant Configuration is desired either SAP S/4 Hana or ECC with LO-VC.
• Experience with SAP S/4 Hana experience with Sales and Distribution (SD) and Order to Cash (OTC) is a plus.
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the SAP’s Variant Configurator processes (LO-VC) is desired.
• Experience with constraint and table attribute-based modeling techniques.
• Product knowledge of Luminaires, Controls, Signage and Signaling is highly desired.
• Excellent communication, presentation and project management skills are needed.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a dynamic environment.
• Highly motivated and able to work independently and with others.
