Responsibilities

  • Maintain records of products, components, inventory, and documentation in designated systems.
  • Monitor and update configuration records to reflect approved changes and current requirements.
  • Collaborate with project teams to understand documentation and change control needs.
  • Review technical drawings, specs, and records for accuracy and traceability.
  • Coordinate approved changes and track implementation via established processes.
  • Develop tracking tools, status reports, and procedures to support execution and visibility.
  • Monitor revisions and material records with technical teams; update product documentation.
  • Improve issue tracking, documentation accuracy, and performance reporting with quality and operations teams.
  • Ensure records comply with procedures and regulatory or contractual requirements.
  • Identify efficiency opportunities in data processes and communicate findings to management.

Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Configuration Management Specialist to support product documentation, data integrity, and change control within a technical engineering and manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate product records, coordinating documentation updates, tracking approved changes, and ensuring consistency across technical documentation, inventory records, and project requirements. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and comfortable working across multiple teams to maintain data accuracy, improve processes, and support operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate records of products, components, inventory, and associated documentation within designated business systems.
  • Monitor and update configuration records to reflect approved changes, current documentation, and applicable project requirements.
  • Collaborate with project teams to understand documentation, recordkeeping, and change control requirements across assigned initiatives.
  • Review technical documentation, drawings, specifications, and related records to ensure accuracy, consistency, and traceability.
  • Coordinate approved changes with relevant teams and track implementation through established processes.
  • Develop and maintain tracking tools, status reports, and documentation procedures to support project execution and operational visibility.
  • Partner with technical teams to monitor component revisions, material records, and product documentation updates.
  • Work with quality and operations personnel to improve issue tracking, documentation accuracy, and performance reporting.
  • Maintain records and supporting documentation in accordance with established procedures and applicable contractual or regulatory requirements.
  • Review data and business processes to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Prepare reports and communicate relevant findings, status updates, and improvement recommendations to management.
  • Support process improvement initiatives that strengthen collaboration, data integrity, and operational performance.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support business and project objectives.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
  • Relevant experience in configuration management, data management, technical documentation, project coordination, or a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any required security authorization applicable to assigned responsibilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and recordkeeping.
  • Experience working with structured data, business systems, technical records, or controlled documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across technical, operational, and administrative teams while also working independently.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in a related discipline.
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP), manufacturing resource planning (MRP), or other business management systems.
  • Familiarity with inventory tracking, revision control, change management, or technical documentation processes.
  • Experience maintaining databases, product records, or controlled documentation.
  • Exposure to quality management systems and structured operational processes.
  • Ability to manage detailed assignments independently and contribute effectively within a team environment.
  • Adaptability, initiative, and a willingness to learn new tools, systems, and processes.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work for extended periods at a computer and workstation.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to move throughout an operational or manufacturing environment as needed.
