Job summary

Platinum Technologies in Northern Virginia seeks a Configuration Manager to ensure the integrity of software, hardware, and system configurations across projects. On-site in Herndon, VA, you will hold an active TS/SCI clearance with CI poly and drive configuration management excellence.

Responsibilities include developing CM plans, maintaining the CMDB, tracking baselines, and coordinating with development, operations, and QA teams to enforce CM processes and regulatory compliance with DoD

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with eligibility to obtain CI Poly.
• 5–7+ years in configuration management in defense/intel/government environments.
• Expertise with CM tools such as JIRA, Git, CM Pro, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of ITIL, ISO 9001, and CMMI.

• Track, control, and audit baselines, CIs, and documentation for accuracy.

• Maintain CMDB and ensure updates are completed promptly.
• Collaborate with development, operations, and QA to enforce CM processes.
• Ensure compliance with DoD and IC standards for configuration and change management.
• Provide regular CM activity reports and maintain records of status, requests, and audits.
• Assist in CM-related reviews, inspections, and audits.

We are seeking a Configuration Manager to join our team in Herndon, VA. This role is essential to ensuring the integrity and consistency of software, hardware, and systems configurations across projects. The ideal candidate will have a passion for process improvement, a deep understanding of configuration management principles, and the ability to work collaboratively with technical and operational teams. This role is on-site in Herndon, VA. Candidate must hold an active DoD TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a CI with polygraph.

What You Get To Do.

• Establish and maintain a comprehensive Configuration Management (CM) process to ensure control of software, hardware, and system changes
• Develop and manage configuration management plans and standard operating procedures in accordance with industry best practices and Maxar policies
• Track, control, and audit baselines, configuration items (CIs), and documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency
• Support the development, integration, and deployment of systems by managing builds, releases, and change control processes
• Maintain the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), ensuring all updates are accurate and completed promptly
• Collaborate with development, operations, and quality assurance teams to implement and enforce CM processes
• Ensure compliance with DoD and intelligence community standards for configuration and change management
• Provide regular reports and updates on CM activities and maintain records of configuration status, change requests, and audits
• Assist in configuration-related reviews, inspections, and audits to ensure system readiness and adherence to requirements

Required Qualifications.

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Information Systems, Computer Science, or Engineering) or equivalent experience
• Active TS/SCI clearance with eligibility to obtain and maintain a CI Poly
• Minimum five - seven (5-7) + years of experience in configuration management, preferably in defense, intelligence, or government contracting environments
• Expertise in configuration management tools such as JIRA, Git, CM Pro, or equivalent systems
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies
• Knowledge of government and industry standards such as ITIL, ISO 9001, and CMMI
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications.

• Configuration Management certifications such as CMII, ITIL Foundation, or CMMI Associate
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with cloud-based systems and tools such as AWS, Azure, or Docker
