Job description

The Configuration Management Analyst will be responsible for supporting the development of a comprehensive Configuration Management Plan (CMP) for system components and documentation. This role focuses on ensuring the CMP is fully compliant with SAE EIA-649-1A, SAE EIA-649-C, and DID DI-SESS-80858D standards. The analyst will collaborate with Shield AI to align the CMP with existing systems and practices, ensuring consistency, compliance, and efficiency across all configuration management processes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing a detailed CMP for system components and documentation, adhering to SAE EIA-649-1A, SAE EIA-649-C, and DID DI-SESS-80858D standards.
  • Integrate Shield AI's existing configuration management practices into the final CMP to ensure alignment and consistency.
  • Define configuration control processes to manage changes, documentation, and system updates efficiently.

Data Collection and Analysis:

  • Work with Shield AI to gather existing configuration management plans and data for integration into the new CMP.
  • Identify gaps or inefficiencies in current configuration management processes and recommend solutions to improve compliance and effectiveness.

Consulting and Support:

  • Provide expert guidance on configuration management processes and documentation to ensure compliance with government regulations.
  • Recommend best practices for configuration control, audits, and change management to optimize efficiency and reduce risks.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure the CMP complies with all relevant government and industry standards, including SAE EIA-649-1A and SAE EIA-649-C.
  • Review and validate the CMP for accuracy, clarity, and usability.

Collaboration and Reporting:

  • Work closely with internal teams and Shield AI representatives to ensure the CMP meets program requirements and stakeholder expectations.
  • Communicate progress, challenges, and updates to program managers and stakeholders regularly.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering , Program Management, Technical Writing, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in configuration management, program management, or documentation development, preferably within government or defense programs.
  • Strong knowledge of SAE EIA-649-1A, SAE EIA-649-C, and DID DI-SESS-80858D standards.
  • Experience with configuration management systems, change control processes, and documentation audits.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and configuration management tools (e.g., PTC Windchill, CMstat , or similar systems).
  • Familiarity with government regulations and compliance standards is a plus.

Work Environment and Conditions

This is a hybrid role, with occasional travel required to Shield AI facilities or other locations for collaboration and data collection. The position requires attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a focus on compliance and quality.
