Job summary

The United Methodist Church GCFA seeks a Business Manager of the General Conference to lead planning, coordination, and execution of sessions, including travel, housing, visa, and vendor contracts.

You will oversee budgets, financial reporting, office operations, and staff supervision, working with delegates, staff, volunteers, and partner agencies to ensure smooth conference planning and successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, accounting, business management or related field required.
• Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation required.
• 4–6 years of professional experience in meeting planning, conference management, hospitality, travel management, or a related field.
• Experience developing and managing budgets and vendor contracts.
• Experience working with nonprofit, faith-based, or religious organizations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate General Conference sessions and special conferences.
• Coordinate travel, housing, and visa for delegates.
• Manage budgets, spending plans, and financial reports.
• Negotiate and manage contracts with hotels, venues, and service providers.
• Oversee office operations and staff travel coordination.
• Support volunteers and staff during conference activities.
