Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Covington, VA seeks a Condition Monitoring Analyst to provide day-to-day vibration support to maintenance and operations. You will identify asset reliability risks, assist with safety, run time and equipment improvements, and support troubleshooting and new asset development.

The role requires 4+ years in industrial or mechanical settings, CMMS experience, and strong communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years experience in industrial, mechanical or vibration work setting.
  • Experience with Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Experience with problem analysis and rotating equipment troubleshooting.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, technical and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day condition monitoring services in support of plant equipment breakdowns, diagnosing failure modes and prescribing repair procedures.
  • Provide ongoing support and continuous improvement to the maintenance management system database by entering/updating equipment data and by developing/entering/updating preventive maintenance procedures for plant equipment.
  • Provide ongoing support technical for the Predictive Maintenance program, including and future enhancements to the vibrations analysis, infrared thermography and lubrication management efforts
  • Provide technical support for shop repair of major plant equipment and field inspection
  • Provide technical support to maintenance planning and scheduling functions
  • Continuously improve standard operating procedures (SOP’s) for maintenance, including procedures for equipment documentation

The Opportunity

The Condition Monitoring Analyst provides day-to-day technical and vibration support to the maintenance and operating areas. The primary role is to identify and manage asset reliability risks that could adversely affect plant or business operations. These responsibilities include safety and environmental issues, equipment reliability and run time, equipment improvements, process/equipment troubleshooting, training, and new asset development support.

What You Need To Succeed
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in industrial, mechanical or vibration work setting

  • Background in Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Experience in problem analysis and rotating equipment troubleshooting
  • Versatility-ability to work in all areas of operations including adverse climate and difficult locations
  • Experience with preventive maintenance program
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, technical and leadership skills

The salary range for this position is $87,000.00 - $145,000.00, depending on your role, level, and location. The range listed is also the expected pay for roles in Illinois and Colorado. The benefits for this role include short-term bonus incentive, health, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and paid sick leave as required by applicable state/local law, 15 days of paid vacation, and 11 days of paid holidays, subject to annual change. Your pay will be based on factors such as your skills, experience, and education.
