The Blastworx Division of WRI has been fulfilling concrete surface preparation, and polishing needs in the Mid-Atlantic region for 30 years.

Job Summary:

Blastworx (a division of WRI) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Concrete Surface Preparation (CSP) Foreman to lead and oversee all aspects of concrete surface preparation for various projects. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of different preparation techniques, equipment operation, and safety protocols. This role requires strong leadership abilities, good communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results efficiently and safely. The CSP Foreman will be responsible for directing crew members, ensuring adherence to project specifications, and maintaining a productive and safe work environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise a crew of CSP technicians and laborers.
• Organize daily work assignments for the crew.
• Perform various concrete surface preparation techniques, including but not limited to: shot blasting, diamond grinding, polishing, and coating removal.
• Operate and maintain a variety of surface preparation equipment, ensuring proper functionality and safety.
• Inspect prepared surfaces to ensure they meet project specifications and quality standards.
• Troubleshoot equipment and perform minor repairs or arrange for necessary maintenance.
• Monitor consumables and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels.
• Enforce all safety regulations and company policies on the job site and conduct regular safety meetings & toolbox talks.
• Train and mentor crew members on proper surface preparation techniques, equipment operation, and safety procedures.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, superintendents, and other stakeholders regarding project progress, challenges, and solutions.
• Ensure the job site is clean, organized, and free of hazards.
• Assist with other tasks as needed to ensure project completion.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in concrete surface preparation.
• Comprehensive knowledge of various concrete surface preparation methods, techniques, and best practices.
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining a wide range of surface preparation equipment (e.g., shot blasters, grinders, vacuums).
• Strong understanding of concrete substrates and potential surface defects.
• Ability to read and interpret project specifications, blueprints, and work orders.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong commitment to safety and the ability to enforce safety regulations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• OSHA 10-hour certification preferred.
• First Aid/CPR certification is a plus.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift heavy objects for extended periods.
• Ability to work in dusty, noisy, and potentially hazardous environments while adhering to safety protocols.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
