Job summary

DPR Construction in Boston (MA) is seeking a Senior SPW Field Manager to lead self-perform crews, enforce safety, and drive high-quality project outcomes. You will partner with SPW leaders to align on-site activities with schedule and budget while maintaining strong client relations.

The role requires a solid SPW background, 7 years in related roles, and OSHA-related certifications. A bachelor’s degree is preferred, with measured leadership and continuous improvement expected on site.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in construction management, engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 7 years of SPW field engineering, construction management, or related experience required.
  • 1–2 years in a managerial capacity preferred.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction preferred; OSHA 30 completion within 6 months of hire required.
  • ASHE, CHC, or relevant market certification preferred.
  • OSHA 510/500 or equivalent training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leads, manages, and develops a team of SPW field individuals to achieve exceptional performance and talent development.
  • Oversees all on-site SPW field activities, ensuring safety and adherence to project specs and standards.
  • Coordinates with SPW project managers, internal crews, and suppliers to schedule resources and resolve issues.
  • Ensures compliance with safety policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements for SPW operations.
  • Reviews and approves daily SPW field documentation to ensure timely reporting.
  • Communicates project status, risks, and opportunities to SPW leadership and stakeholders.
  • Develops plans for completing SPW scope aligned with budget and schedule using advanced crew flow methods.

Job Summary:

Manages a Self-Perform Work (SPW) scope field crews to deliver high-quality results and foster professional growth within SPW disciplines. Drives adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements for all SPW activities, reinforcing a culture where every SPW team member is empowered and accountable for maintaining a safe, inclusive, and high-performing jobsite. Guides SPW teams and SPW-tiered trade partners to create a collaborative environment that proactively identifies and resolves constructability challenges unique to diverse SPW scopes, ensuring smooth project execution. Collaborates with all project leaders to align SPW field operations with overall project objectives and client expectations, ensuring that daily decisions consistently drive successful project outcomes and strengthen long-term client relationships. Directs all on-site SPW construction activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, to the highest quality standards, and with optimal productivity to reinforce the organization’s reputation for SPW operational excellence and support its financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leads, manages, and develops a team of SPW field individuals to achieve exceptional performance and encourage talent development.
  • Oversees all on-site SPW field activities, ensuring in-house crews execute work safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and organizational standards.
  • Manages coordination with SPW project managers, internal SPW crews, and suppliers to schedule resources, resolve complex issues, and maintain momentum for SPW scopes.
  • Ensures compliance with safety policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements specific to self-perform operations, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within SPW teams.
  • Reviews and approves daily SPW field documentation, including progress reports, safety logs, and productivity records, to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Reviews and communicates project status, risks, and opportunities to SPW leadership and relevant stakeholders, proactively addressing concerns to support project success.
  • Develops the comprehensive plan for completing the SPW scope in alignment with the scope budget and overall project schedule, utilizes advanced methods for crew flow, leveling, and efficient use of equipment and materials.
Education Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in construction management, engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
Work Experience:
  • 7 years of experience in SPW field engineering, construction management, or a related field required.
  • 1 - 2 years of experience in a managerial capacity preferred.
Certifications and Licenses:
  • OSHA 30‑Hour Construction preferred.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Program Completion within 6 months of hire is required.
  • ASHE, CHC, or relevant market certification preferred.
  • OSHA 510/500 or equivalent training preferred.
