Job Description: Quality Control Inspector at American Concrete

American Concrete manufactures Prestressed Precast concrete products for railroads and commercial projects. We build slabs, beams, caps, abutments, and other bridge components, along with columns, girders, walls, and more for various commercial applications. We are seeking a dedicated QC Inspector.

Summary

Under the supervision of the Quality Control Manager within the Operations department, the QC Inspector performs and documents quality control inspections of all precast concrete products. Responsibilities include evaluating dimensional accuracy, tolerances, aesthetic appearance, interpreting blueprints, and managing shipping and receiving of finished and raw materials.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform pre-pour inspections of forms, reinforcement, steel, and inserts to ensure smooth workflow and minimize delays and rework.
• Maintain daily and project-specific production records.
• Verify all dimensions of cast-in embeds.
• Complete daily QC documentation.
• Inspect finished products, document issues, and follow up on patches or rework needed.
• Ensure correct marking of all precast products.
• Assist in testing materials and finished products as required.
• Maintain plant and yard safety in accordance with company policies and safety personnel.
• Manage receiving materials and shipping finished products.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of concrete industry experience.
• Willing to obtain PCI certification within 6 months.
• Attention to detail and accurate documentation skills.
• Strong coordination and organizational skills.
• Proficient in reading tape measures; blueprint reading is a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and be on your feet all day.
