Job summary

Hinkle Contracting seeks a Quality Control Technician for concrete to provide inspection, testing, and documentation across Kentucky projects. You will develop relationships with DOT personnel and suppliers, ensure mix design quality, and help optimize production with data-backed adjustments.

The role requires DOT testing certifications, ACI Level I and KCA Level II credentials preferred, and 1–2 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• ACI Level I and KCA Level II Certifications preferred.
• Minimum or GED required; DOT certifications required to test concrete as per state regulations.
• 1–2 years of related field experience.
• Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.
• Must wear PPE and comply with OSHA/MSHA regulations.
• Willing to travel and work nights/weekends when required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, sample, and test aggregates, asphalt, cement or other materials for quality control.
• Sample and test mixtures to stay in contract specifications and QC tolerance.
• Monitor and test process functions to meet agency or customer requirements.
• Record accurate information and maintain test results database.
• Maintain lab equipment and certification paperwork; obtain required certifications timely.
• Follow QC plans and directions from manager; ensure safe work environment.
• Assist in solving quality control related problems.
