Job summary

CalPortland is hiring a Yard Laborer to maintain the ready‑mix plant and assist in producing concrete products. Responsibilities include daily plant cleanup, equipment inspections, material handling, and teamwork to keep operations efficient.

The role requires safety consciousness, ability to follow policies, and physical stamina for long shifts, including overtime as needed. High school diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to work safely and follow all company policies.
• Understand hazards in areas of responsibility.
• Self-directed with minimal supervision.
• Must use proper PPE as required.
• Physical requirements: sit/stand for up to 8 hours; climb stairs; crawl in tight spaces.

Responsibilities

• Day‑to‑day plant clean‑up and maintenance; heavy lifting and lubrication.
• Perform production tasks for concrete products as assigned.
• Load, unload and move material as directed.
• Collaborate with team to maximize productivity and efficiency.
• Conduct daily plant and equipment inspections.
• Operate and assist with machinery used in production.
• Identify problems and communicate to management.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Report unsafe conditions immediately to supervisor.
• Perform other duties as required.
