We have 86 quarries and 56 asphalt plants across Tennessee, Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, North Carolina, Kentucky, Arkansas, Texas, Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio.
Rogers Group Inc. is currently seeking a Concrete Plant Manager to join our team at our Ready-Mix Plant located in the Dayton, TN area. This position will report to the Ready-Mix Area Manager. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence and be a self-starter.
The Concrete Plant Manager is responsible for managing the plant location to make sure all safety procedures are being followed, optimizing plant performance, coordinating production schedules, and managing inventory. The role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise in batching ready-mix concrete, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of the ready-mix plant, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company standards.
- Lead, supervise, and support plant personnel, including loader operators, batch plant operators, drivers, and maintenance staff.
- Schedule and coordinate concrete production to meet delivery deadlines and customer demands.
- Optimize batching accuracy and plant productivity while minimizing downtime and material waste.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of raw materials.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure plant reliability.
- Enforce compliance with OSHA safety guidelines and company safety policies to maintain a zero-incident culture.
- Ensure consistent production of high-quality concrete by adhering to mix designs and quality control standards.
- Collaborate with dispatch, quality control, and maintenance departments to ensure seamless plant operations.
- Maintain accurate production and maintenance records using plant management software and Microsoft Office tools.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in the Ready-Mix Concrete industry, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
- In-depth understanding of concrete batching operations, material properties, and plant equipment.
- Proven ability to lead and develop plant teams in a fast-paced, safety-sensitive environment.
- Knowledge of quality control practices and ability to interpret mix designs and test results.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with a hands-on, results-driven approach.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and industry-specific plant/batching software.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
