Job summary

Van Eaton Ready Mix Inc. seeks a skilled driver to operate ready mix trucks across multiple locations throughout the year, away from home most of the time. You will deliver to remote sites, with schedules directed by Dispatch and supervision from the Batch/Plant Manager.

Duties include minor maintenance and keeping equipment clean, ensuring safe working conditions on site. Earn an hourly wage in a 30.00–35.00 per hour range, with a daily per diem and sign-on bonuses for eligible hires.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL A or B and Med Card required to apply.
• Must be willing to travel overnight for long periods (months) to work on job sites.

Responsibilities

• Operate ready mix trucks safely and efficiently.
• Perform minor vehicle servicing and maintenance or report major problems.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and a safe work environment at the batch plant.
• Assist in day-to-day operations as scheduled by Dispatch.
• Deliveries to remote locations and away from home base.

Job description

This is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient operation of ready mix trucks and works away from home at various locations throughout the year. This is not a home every night position. Deliveries will be made in remote areas. Work will be performed per the Batch/Plant Manager, free from direct supervision except for more complicated jobs. Delivery and shift schedules will be directed and scheduled by DISPATCH.

The driver is responsible for the efficient working conditions and cleanliness of equipment and is expected to perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor. Drivers will be expected to assist in maintaining a clean and safe working environment in and around the batch plant as per supervisor's instruction.
