READY MIX DRIVER

Position Summary :

The primary responsibility is to drive a concrete mixer to job sites and safely deliver the load. This involves working in various settings and conditions, including uneven ground, and may require lifting and attaching extension chutes weighing 35-50 pounds. A Ready-mix Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the ready-mix truck used for delivering products related to the company's concrete operations.

Duties and Responsibilities :

1. Safely drive the truck to and from destinations, applying knowledge of DOT driving regulations and area roads.
2. Check loads to ensure products are hauled safely and appropriately, adjusting to desired levels.
3. Estimate the slump of concrete.
4. Verify delivery directions with plant personnel before leaving to ensure correct delivery.
5. Strive to meet customer expectations.
6. Keep equipment clean using approved cleaning materials and supplies.
7. Maintain radio contact with supervisor or dispatch for delivery instructions.
8. Assist other company employees as needed.
9. Complete pre- and post-trip inspections on truck equipment and supplies, such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, fuel, oil, and water.
10. Perform minor roadside repairs, such as installing light bulbs, if necessary.
11. Maintain good knowledge of traffic routes in the city.
12. Follow instructions and guidance from supervisors and management.
13. Adhere to all company, DOT, and OSHA rules and regulations at all times.
14. Meet or exceed company safety standards.
15. Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Requirements :

1. Possess a valid Texas-issued commercial driver's license (CDL A or B).
2. Be at least 21 years old.
3. Have a clean driving record with no DUI or DWI in the last 5 years and no more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years.
4. Must be registered with the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse.
