Job summary

Canyon Contracting, Inc. in Wyomissing, PA is seeking a Laborer to perform general construction tasks and support Carpenters and Skilled Laborers on site. You will clean and prepare job sites before and after projects and assist crew as directed.

This role requires physical stamina, ability to read safety labels and follow instructions, maintain safety standards, and move materials as directed by foreman. Previous concrete industry experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is an asset.
• Previous experience in concrete industry preferred.
• Proven ability to follow directions.
• Ability to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines.
• Experience displaying attention to detail and staying alert for safety.
• Proven ability to receive and follow instructions and communicate with co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Assist Carpenters and Skilled Laborers at the site.
• Performs physical duties as assigned.
• Maintain all safety standards.
• Handle job site material. Move, load or unload materials as directed.
• Move items from place to place, according to direction from the Foreman or Job Superintendent.
• Responsible for the placement of concrete at the jobsite for ftgs, slabs, decks, piers, and small walls using shovels, rakes, or wheelbarrows.
• At times will be required to grade stone and subgrade stone.
• Responsible to unroll and roll up blankets used at the job site.
• Required to strip forms as directed.
• Responsible to cleanup job site, stacking/banding materials and trash and removal of the trash and debris.
• Build and develop trusting relationships with current customers and seek to identify opportunities to grow our customer base and build positive relationships.
