Job summary

Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc. is seeking a Concrete Carpenter/Finisher helper in State College, PA. This hourly, non-exempt role operates under supervision to learn finishing concrete, form cutting, grading, and related tasks on construction sites.

Responsibilities include tool maintenance, reading grades, and supporting a safe work environment. Night shifts and weekend hours may be required. PennDOT Flagger Training is a listed prerequisite.

Qualifications

• Must have own basic set of hand tools.
• Must have basic math skills.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• PennDOT Flagger Training must be completed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in finishing concrete to learn and develop skill.
• Assist in cutting and setting forms to learn and develop skill.
• Grade stone, compact stone and prepare for pour of concrete.
• Develop skill in using a lute.
• Complete edging and hand floating with finisher.
• Strip and clean forms.
• Saw cut concrete joints.
• Perform concrete structure work as needed.
• Operate company vehicle safely as needed.
• Ensure a safe working environment.
• Maintain company equipment.
• May operate heavy equipment such as skid steer, roller, paver, screed.
• Frequently work more than 40 hours per week including nights, Saturdays, Sundays.
• Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
