Job summary

Team Fishel in Dayton, Ohio, is seeking skilled Concrete Laborers for our natural gas construction crews. This role supports heavy concrete finishing, tear-out, form setting, and placement, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality workmanship.

Candidates should have at least one year in concrete, a High School diploma or GED, and a valid CDL-A or be able to obtain one within 120 days. The job is outdoors, weather-exposed, with competitive pay and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Mold expansion joints and edges; remove high spots and rough projections.

Description

Team Fishel, the Best Choice for Utility Construction and Network Installation, is seeking greatConcreteLaborersfor our Natural Gas business in theDayton. Ohiooffice. This skilled labor position supports our gas utility construction crews with hard surface restoration behind those crews. Great Concrete Laborer Teammates will possess the ability to do finishing work at a high level of perfection, and an evenhigherfocus on safety.

Qualified Teammates should be experienced in all aspects of finishing concrete, tear out, set up, pouring operations, straight edge, stamp concrete and read construction documents

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensureregulatory needs and safety measures are maintained
• Ableto survey grid line and elevations
• Abilityto form and finish concrete to grade
• Managingthe expectations of the Customer at all times
• Capableof setting forms that hold concrete to desired pitch and depth, and alignthem.
• Inspectconcrete forms to see they are properly constructed.
• Spreadand level concrete, using rake, shovel, hand or power trowel, hand orpower screed, and float.
• Mold expansion joints and edges, using edging tools, jointers, and straightedge.
• Chip, scrape, and grind high spots, ridges and rough projections to finish concrete, using pneumatic chisels, power grinders, or hand tools

Education, Work Experience, and Certifications

• Valid CDL – A driver’s license required*
• Must have a minimum of one year’s experience in the concrete industry
• High School diploma or GED equivalent.

*We will accept candidates without a CDL-A, under the condition that they will be able to obtain their CDL-A within 120 days of employment with Team Fishel.

Knowledge,Skills, and Abilities

• Preparation,facilitation of concrete placement, and finishing.
• Needspouring and finishing knowledge with proficiency in trowel, broom, andhand finish
• Needsto have understanding of daily concrete operations with ability to workindependently
• Abilityto determine types of tools and equipment needed on jobs
Abilityto use logic and create alternative solutions and approaches to problemsolving

WorkConditions

This position operates in an outdoor environment. This role routinely subjectsyou to all elements of an outdoor environment, including extreme sun, wind,rain, heat, and cold temperature exposure.

PhysicalDemands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must bemet by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of thisposition:

• Abilityto stand for long periods of time
• Abilityto lift, squat and bend

Laborers with a valid and current CDL-A driving qualifications is a huge plus!

OQ qualified utility laborers is a plus.

Bilingual and prior construction experience is a plus
Team Fishel will provide on-the-job training in all areas of safety, including flagging certification, tool operation and maintenance
