QUIKRETE HOLDINGS INC. seeks a Concrete Laboratory Manager to lead testing of concrete and mortar per ASTM/AASHTO standards across the East Coast. You will collaborate with plants, sales and technical services while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include supervising lab staff, maintaining equipment, and ensuring accurate data reporting. Requires an associate degree or 10+ years in concrete testing; Excel/Word skills and initiative are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in concrete technology or 10+ years in concrete/lab testing.
• Experience with concrete lab testing standards and procedures.
• ACI and DOT certifications preferred.
• Demonstrate initiative based on problem solving skills.
• Detail-oriented and able to follow written procedures.
• Willing to learn various computer information systems.
• Experience in Microsoft Excel and Word.

• Operate and maintain the concrete laboratory per EH&S standards.
• Perform concrete testing of various samples and CCRL programs.
• Maintain lab resources and equipment calibrations.
• Record and report testing data accurately.
• Coordinate lab activities with Technical Services Director/Engineer.
• Participate in internal audits of the QMS and improve processes.
• Supervise lab technicians and ensure training compliance.
• Ensure ASTM and AASHTO standards are followed.

We're hiring for the role of Concrete Laboratory Manager. The prime objective of the ConcreteLab Manager is to perform testing of concrete and mortar in accordance with Federal and State regulations and ASTM and/or AASTHO standards and specifications and act as a liaison between plants, sales, technical services, and the concrete lab. The ConcreteLab Manager reports to our Technical Services Director. The Concrete Lab Manager is also, responsible for working in a safe manner to complete concrete and mortar testing across the East Coast region.

What You’ll Do

• Ensure concrete laboratory is operated and maintained in a manner consistent with Quikrete Cement’s Mission, Vision and Values which uphold Environmental, Health & Safety Standards.
• Ensure lab resources are maintained.
• Perform concrete testing of MRC, shipping, competitive and CCRL samples.
• Perform investigative tests as required for complaint resolution, competitive testing program, product quality control in concrete and product development.
• Provide testing services for internal and external customers when requested.
• Assist in maintaining lab equipment including checks, standardization and verification of calibrations.
• Maintain records in Concrete Laboratory in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO and laboratory procedures.
• Reporting of quality testing data.
• Coordinates Laboratory activities with Technical Services Director and Technical Services Engineer.
• Review of all non-conformances created at the Concrete Laboratory.
• Ensure processes required for the QMS are established, implemented and maintained.
• Ensure the Technical Services Director and Technical Services Engineer are aware of the performance of the QMS and any need for improvement.
• Participates in internal audits of the QMS Supervise lab operators, lab facility and maintaining QC equipment Continuous improvement of the QMS through data analysis and suggestions.
• Supervise Concrete Laboratory Technician.
• Maintains certifications and training requirements.
• Promotion of awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization.

• Associate degree in concrete technology or a minimum of ten years’ work experience in concrete or laboratory testing.
• Experience with concrete laboratory testing standards and procedures
• ACI and DOT Certifications preferred
• Demonstrate the ability to take initiative based on sound problem solving skills.
• Detailed oriented and able to follow written procedures.
• Willing to learn various computer information systems.
• Experience in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Flexible team player with strong inter-personal skills, with the ability to deal with human and technical adverse situations.
• Ability to pass pre-employment screening which includes physical, background check, and ten (10) panel drug screen.
