Job summary

Pave America is seeking a skilled Concrete Finisher in Manassas, VA to join our construction crew. You will place, finish, and repair concrete on foundations, slabs, sidewalks, curbs, and more, using hand tools and power equipment while maintaining safety and quality.

The successful candidate has 2+ years of concrete finishing experience, ability to read blueprints, and willingness to travel regionally. This role demands physical endurance and the ability to work weekends and evenings as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of concrete finishing experience preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.
• Ability to travel overnight when projects are outside local area.

Responsibilities

• Set and align concrete forms for sidewalks, curbs, pads, and slabs.
• Pour, spread, and level concrete using rakes, shovels, and screeds.
• Smooth and finish surfaces using hand tools (trowels, floats, edgers, jointers).
• Apply textures or surface treatments as specified (broom finish, stamped, etc.).
• Monitor weather conditions and adjust finishing techniques accordingly.
• Read and interpret blueprints or drawings as needed.
• Maintain tools and equipment in clean, working order.
• Cure surfaces using appropriate compounds and methods.
• Ensure quality control, proper thickness, slope, and surface integrity.
• Read and interpret blueprints or drawings as needed.
• Directing the casting of the concrete with the truck driver.
• Safely operating power vibrator to ensure the concrete is compacted.
• Molding and constructing expansion joints using joiners and edging tools.
• Polishing surface using a power surfacing machine.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
