Job summary

Walbec Group in Wisconsin seeks a Cement Mason/Concrete Finisher to safely assist in placing and finishing concrete surfaces on commercial and industrial sites across the Midwest. Under the Foreman, you'll smooth and level concrete, form setups, and help pour beams, columns and panels.

Responsibilities include using vibration equipment, preparing forms, and finishing corners by hand. Union membership is encouraged; must lift up to 75 lbs and be available for varied hours, including nights and

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
• A Class A CDL is strongly desired.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
• Prior construction experience preferred.
• Must be punctual and dependable.
• Able to work varied hours including nights, early mornings, and weekends as needed.
• Be able to tolerate and work in variable weather conditions, and work in dirty and dusty environments, and crawl in close quarters to strip concrete forms.
• Member of a Local Cement Masons Union, or willingness to become a union member are required.

Responsibilities

• Smooth out concrete in segments to ensure the concrete poured is level.
• Fill roadways, driveways, sidewalks, bridges, and parking lots.
• Arrange the concrete forms and prepare surface.
• Level surfaces by using special blades, making sure all lumps and bubbles are smoothed over.
• Use wood or plastic forms to shape the concrete and hold it until it is set.
• Smooth high spots and fill depressions.
• Make concrete beams, columns, and panels.
• Finish corners by hand.
• Use machines that vibrate concrete to fill air pockets.
• Knowledge of and ability to safely use crane hand signals.
• Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
