Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC is seeking a Concrete Finisher/Laborer to perform forming, pouring, smoothing and finishing of sidewalks, roads and curbs using hand and power tools. The role requires attention to safety and quality.

The successful candidate will build formwork, lay out anchors, set forms, and finish surfaces, working with a small crew in a demanding outdoor environment. Drug screen and background checks may apply.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work independently and lead a small crew for form, place, and finish work.
• 1+ years of prior verifiable experience in a similar role.
• Driver's License required.
• Pre-employment drug screen, background and/or MVR check may be required.

Responsibilities

• Build formwork according to plans, including flat work, curbs, ramps and retaining walls.
• Layout for anchor bolts, build templates and install in correct orientation.
• Bend and tie rebar cages to spec.
• Setting concrete forms in place, ensuring appropriate depth and pitch is achieved.
• Use various tools to pour, smooth and level concrete.
• Cleaning and inspecting surfaces for quality pouring.
• Works around customers and the general public consistently and is expected to maintain a very high level of professionalism.
• Assist in on-site work duties.

Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must have sufficient eyesight to judge distance/coordination of equipment and tools, be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time, be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, be able to wear personal protective equipment as necessary, be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day, have the endurance necessary to traverse various terrain, be capable of performing job duties throughout a standard 8- or 10-hour day, be able to communicate with others, read, write, and comprehend written/verbal job instructions and information, and communicate and handle conflict professionally.
