Calhoun Construction Services is hiring for our Concrete Division in Louisville, KY. Concrete finishers and carpenters will build and dismantle forms for foundations, walls, footings, and slabs, and finish surfaces to required smoothness.

The role requires 3+ years of hands-on concrete trade experience, the ability to read plans, and safe operation of trade tools. Work includes nights and weekends as project demands, with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Responsabilités

• Read and interpret plans, schematics and drawings and build accordingly.
• Use the appropriate trade tools for assigned projects.
• Select and use tools and materials to ensure quality and timely work.
• Suggest improvements to reduce costs and increase quality.
• Guide unskilled labor to maintain safety and project standards.
• Collaborate with Foreman to identify issues before quoting and at take-off.
• Coordinate with other trades on overlapping schedules.
• Maintain safety standards on all job sites.
• Perform layout work and other duties as assigned.

Concrete Finisher and Concrete Carpenter

Operations Full Time Hourly Louisville, KY, US

Salary Range: $22.00 To $28.00 Hourly

Calhoun Construction Services is hiring for our Concrete Division and looking for dedicated, energetic individuals to join our growing team! At Calhoun, we are committed to our associates as well as the communities that we live in, and we want employees that share that same passion.

Carpenters and finishers will build and dismantle temporary or permanent wooden or metal frameworks used to shape concrete structures like foundations, walls, footings and slabs. They will hand or machine-finish to level and smooth surfaces.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret plans, schematics, and drawings and build based off them
• Effectively and safely use the right trade tools for the projects assigned
• Utilize tools and research required by trade to accomplish quality and timely work assignments
• Continuously investigate methods and means to improve the cost effectiveness and quality of work within the trade
• Provide guidance to unskilled labor to ensure safety and professional project completion
• Analyze projects by working closely with the Foreman in identifying potential issues that may arise prior to quoting and at project take-off
• Work closely with other trades where projects require simultaneous and overlapping trade work
• Perform all work according to safety standards and promote safety on all job sites
• Perform layout
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Knowledgeable with grades and ADA requirements
• Ability to bend, crouch and stand for long periods of time
• Strong knowledge and experience interpreting drawings/project specifications
• Experience at efficiently and safely operating trade tools and equipment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Experience working effectively in a team environment
• Associates in Construction Trade or equivalent trade certification from an accredited program preferred
• 3+ years of hands-on trade experience in commercial concrete
• Ability to work hours as project requires, including nights and weekends
• Willing to work outside in all elements
